Spalted Boxelder Lamp

I made this turning from a tree limb that came down in a tornado that hit Carroll Park in the 1990s. The finish is blond shellac.

The wood for this turning sat in my basement until 2003 when I purchased a lathe.

The wood for this turning came from my swim coach. It is finished in wiping polyurethane.

Poplar and Cherry Chalice.

The poplar for this turning came from a 4x4 that was part of a pallet used to ship lumber to Hechinger's. The cherry came from my father-in-law's sawmill. The part is finished with Orange Shellac.
