Walnut Weather Station

This is a project I made for a couple as a wedding present.  In the photos  below you can see some of the steps that are taken to make this type of project.

The board is run through the joiner to square 1 edge and the table saw to make the edges parallel.

Then the location of the gauges are laid out and the holes are drilled into the board for the gauges.

After the holes are drilled there is a lot of sanding.

At this stage I sand a project starting with 120 grit and ending with 240 grit.

After the initial sanding I run the board through the router to round the edges. Then I sand from 240 grit to 400 grit.

After the sanding I brand and sign the piece.

This is a view of the back of the weather station after it is finished with wiping polyurethane and the gauges are installed.
